Representative Sharon Tomiko Santos was elected into the Washington State House of Representatives in 1998, where she has worked to serve the people of Washington ever since. Trained as a social justice and civil rights activist, Rep. Tomiko Santos has continually pushed for legislation that centers education, women’s rights, affordable housing, and economic and environmental justice.

As the Chair of the House Education Committee, Rep. Tomiko Santos strives to eliminate educational inequities and ensure all students have access to opportunities for success. She has served on the boards of numerous local and national organizations, and is an avid community activist.
